The Production Scheduler is the owner of the short‑term execution plan, ensuring delivery against customer commitments while maximising capacity utilisation and operational efficiency.

The role maintains a stable, prioritised schedule, drives daily execution discipline, and safeguards full control of workflow, data integrity, and production readiness.

This is a hands‑on operational control role, focused on eliminating surprises on the shopfloor, stabilising processes, and delivering consistent, reliable output.

Accountable for:

•           On‑Time Delivery (OTD) and dependable execution performance

•           Schedule adherence and short‑term planning stability

•           Job list quality and production readiness

•           WIP control, flow efficiency, and bottleneck prevention

•           Scan compliance and high‑quality production data

Your Tasks

  • Review and acknowledge incoming orders against capacity, lead times, and component availability, escalating early when commitments cannot be met.
  • Sequence and prioritise production to maximise capacity utilisation, flow, and on‑time delivery, ensuring alignment across all stages for smooth, uninterrupted throughput.
  • Own and maintain a stable, capacity‑aligned production plan and a tightly controlled 24–48h execution window, minimising last‑minute changes and ensuring a reliable next‑day plan with clear, executable job lists and full production readiness.
  • Validate feasibility before releasing plans, ensuring the shopfloor receives only achievable, fully prepared work—no surprises.
  • Monitor execution vs plan in real time, taking immediate corrective action to protect delivery and plan stability, including prioritising remakes, while enforcing strong scan discipline and system accuracy.
  • Identify issues early, drive root‑cause resolution, and implement corrective actions to reduce disruption, variability, and firefighting.
  • Lead daily planning and execution routines, clearly communicating priorities and aligning teams around the plan.
  • Coordinate cross‑functionally with procurement, logistics, and customer service to ensure material availability, realistic lead times, and aligned delivery commitments.

Your Profile

Technical & Process Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and capacity management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Deep knowledge of end‑to‑end production flow, including dependencies and constraints across upstream and downstream processes.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP systems, with a disciplined approach to data accuracy, scan compliance, and system integrity.
  • Advanced Excel capability, including data analysis, reporting, and schedule modelling.

Core Skills

  • Exceptional planning and prioritisation, able to maintain control in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
  • Analytical and data‑driven, capable of translating complex information into clear, executable plans.
  • Decisive problem‑solver, able to act quickly, stabilise situations, and maintain operational flow.
  • Clear, assertive communicator, skilled at aligning teams, setting expectations, and driving disciplined execution.
  • High ownership and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and delivery against commitments.
