Fire Glass UK Ltd is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers, suppliers, and glaziers of fire and acoustic glass, and is looking to appoint a Factory operative at their Bristol branch on a four month fixed term contract.
Your Tasks
1.To carry out all aspects of general laboring & housekeeping duties to allow for products to be finished on time and to a high standard for customers.
2.Assisting Glass operatives where required in the production process.
Health & Safety:
1. Adhering to relevant health and safety regulations when operating machinery and handling products.
2. Comply with the requirements for the role as set out within the company’s Employee Handbook & Integrated Management System (currently comprising of the Quality Management System, Environmental Management System and the Health and Safety Management System), as updated from time to time.
3. Comply with the requirements of any Core Duties or other relevant procedural or policy document applicable to your role.
4. Handling & Storing glass in a factory in a safe manner, which may involve operating lifting equipment.
5. Keeping work areas and the factory floor clean, safe & tidy; organised & free from hazardous material
6. Operating and cleaning assembly and production machinery and hand-held tools
7. Assist in waste disposal and recycling activities.
8. Comply with company PPE policy wearing all requisite PPE when carrying out a task.
Quality:
1. Informing Supervisors of quality issues
2. Finish glass to high standard ensuring high quality.
3. Monitor and conduct basic quality checks as detailed in QCC process.
Production:
1. Adhering to operational procedures and production timelines
2. Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner, complying with company policies, procedures, and instructions at all times.
3. Prepare and package materials and products in accordance with specified standards.
4. Assist with production control process where applicable.
5. Load and unload goods/materials to and from vehicles and storage.
6. Contribute to improving the business, protecting and enhancing the reputation of the company by putting forward new ideas and, when requested to do so, implementing change.
Other:
1. The post holder must also undertake other duties within his/her competence or otherwise appropriate to the grading of the post as required.
Your Profile
Demonstrate an awareness of health & safety within the workplace.
Proven ability to understand quality control techniques.
Possess a Strong Physical strength and stamina.
Ability to operate popular glass production equipment and tools.
Ability to exercise initiative and independence, whilst also working as a team.
Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions and keep accurate records.
Maintain effective communication with management and peers.
Demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills, to meet delivery schedules and complete assigned jobs, in order to meet customer expectations.
Proven proficiency as fork lift operator.
An awareness of, and commitment to, equality of opportunity

Experience: specify type, level and qualitative (not quantitative required); if any.
Qualification: specify type and level required (including equivalents); if any.
Forklift Operators licence is essential.
