Are you hands-on, detail-oriented, and ready to work in a fast-paced production environment?
We're looking for Factory Operative to join our team at Fire Glass UK, a leading name in fire safety glass manufacturing.

What we offer:

Your Tasks

  • Operate various glass cutting machinery.
  • Observe gauges, computer printouts and monitors to verify specified processing conditions and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Set up and adjust automatic glass feeding, flowing and forming machines.
  • Cut glass and mirrors to specified size and shape, using patterns, straightedge, tape measure, glass cutting tools.
  • Break away excess glass by hand or with notched tool or glass pinchers.
  • Examine and mark defective glass, to obtain best cut.
  • Position pattern or drawing on glass, measure dimensions, and mark cutting lines, using glass tools.
  • Smoothens and polishes rough edges using belt sander, straight line polisher or polishing wheels.
  • Operate furnace to produce toughened glass.
  • Sandblasts glass surface within guidelines, using sandblasting tools.
  • Loading and unloading stillage for dispatch.

  • A strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Good physical stamina and teamwork skills
  • Forklift license (essential)
  • Commitment to health & safety and quality standards
